Do you believe that a tight pelvic floor and 'six-pack' abs are the key to core strength? Think again! The core and pelvic floor is a complex, dynamic system that needs a responsive balance of strength and length to function optimally. Yoga is an amazing tool to integrate this system, using movement and breath to engage and release. The result is a conscious, connected core and pelvic floor which works to support our overall health.
This workshop will introduce you to the core and pelvic floor as a whole-body system. Through a blend of theory and somatic mapping, you will gain a deeper understanding of your own body. We will put what we have learned into practice with a pelvic health-informed yoga flow, followed by a deep relaxation.
You will:
Explore the key components of a healthy and responsive core and pelvic floor system
Understand why a balance between softness and strength is important for optimal function
Build an empowering awareness of your own core, pelvis and pelvic floor
Discover why kegels aren't the only (or always the best) way to work your pelvic floor - and how yoga can help
Learn how to integrate your breath, core and pelvic floor to build strength and find release
You don’t need to have previous yoga experience to attend this workshop.
Suitable for prenatal students (from 15 weeks onwards) and postnatal students (from 12 weeks postpartum).
